 Think of laidback relaxing beats seasoned with the angelic and soothing voice of Acel Bisa -van Ommen and what do you get? Nothing less than a promising and heavensent album from Star Records with songs to be individually available in digital form within this year! This is a first for Star Records as well - to launch an artist in purely digital medium with songs available for as low as 12 pesos each! Some of Acel's personal favorites in the new album include “Pakiusap” and “Laugh and Cry”. The sounds in her new album are completely different from those in her previous hits as vocalist for Moonstar88, but with Acel, you can expect nothing but the best.
Acel temporarily stepped off the gigs' spotlight in 2004 after a long period of soul-searching. She was  in the phase where she was about to get married and seeking direction for her life and career at the time.
When she worked as administrator for LMP Music, a starting production company spearheaded by a close friend, music never stopped for her despite the clerical work she had to perform. She continued to make songs in those six months whenever she had the time. She also continued to perform as a single artist in selected occasions. Her heart persisted in making sweet music and touching lives by performing it to her audience. “After a while, I realized how much I miss performing. I mean... that is what I was made for to begin with. So I resigned from LMP as administrator to become their performing artist. That was 2006.”
It was in the same year when the same recording company officially recognized and returned her back to the limelight as a performing artist. It was then that she resigned from her administrative stint and went back to embrace her destiny in serenading the Philippine audience under a different packaging best suited for her own personal life changes.
From the edgy rock music signature of Moonstar88, Acel Bisa – van Ommen took her singing to the next level and made a more laidback and mature comeback under Star Records. Going solo was one of her biggest steps of faith ever since she left Moonstar88 in 2004 (just about a month before she got married). With a great deal of prayers, she stood by this decision amidst the initial fear of losing her bread and butter. Over time, the album developed and she had acquired her own team of musicians who practices with her regularly and has the same vision in life and music as hers. This synergy of minds, strings, notes and hearts is indeed something that music lovers ought to watch out for.
Acel views song-making as something completely tied to the tiers of her own life. Her marriage definitely affected her perspective on life and this is reflected in her digital album. The lyrics speak of hope, maturity and the inner fire in her that keeps burning despite many obstacles and uncertainties. She also continues to encourage more artists and sticks with her flair for soulful music by nurturing her soul and staying in active fellowship to her home church.
